Trinet News | August 16: The issue of student fee reimbursement dues in Telangana has heated up politically once again. BJP State President N. Ramachander Rao demanded that the government immediately release the fee reimbursement arrears. He alleged that students and their families are facing severe hardships due to the government's failure to clear the dues.
Ramachander Rao stated that the fee reimbursement arrears have reached approximately Rs 12,000 crore. He said that about 20 lakh students, particularly belonging to SC, ST, BC, and EBC communities, are suffering due to this issue. He expressed concern that some educational institutions are withholding students' certificates because they have not received the dues, which is impacting their higher education and employment opportunities.
Ramachander Rao urged the government to resolve this issue, which is tied to the future of the students, on a top-priority basis. He demanded the immediate release of the fee arrears to provide relief to students and educational institutions. BJP has already called for statewide protests over this issue. Reports emerged that an agitation was launched in July under the leadership of BJP for the release of fee arrears.
Ramachander Rao criticized the government for ignoring students' problems. With opposition parties questioning the government's stance on fee reimbursement, this issue has become the center of political discussion. BJP leaders made it clear that the government has the responsibility to release the dues without disrupting students' education.
On the other hand, student unions are demanding that the fee reimbursement issue should not be limited to political criticisms, but should be resolved keeping the future of students in mind. Many opine that the government needs to examine the difficulties faced by students due to pending dues and take immediate action.
Overall, the fee reimbursement issue in Telangana has become another crucial political topic between the government and the opposition. Students and parents are eagerly waiting to see what decision the government will take regarding the release of dues.
