Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam has emerged as the venue for a key national-level meeting. The All-India Coordination Meeting, organized annually by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), began this year at Gudilova near Visakhapatnam. The three-day meeting, held from August 19 to 21, is attended by prominent representatives from 32 organizations working across the country under the inspiration of the Sangh.
The meeting, taking place at the Vijnana Vihar School premises, was inaugurated by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat. Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, Sah Sarkaryavahs, and other central-level key office-bearers are participating in the meeting. The RSS stated that the main objective of the gathering is to further strengthen coordination and mutual cooperation among various organizations working in the social sector nationwide.
Participation of Representatives from 32 Organizations
Representatives from Sangh-inspired organizations such as Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Bharatiya Janata Party, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, and Rashtra Sevika Samiti are participating. Reports indicate that around 327 representatives and officials are attending the meeting, including women representatives. Organizations working in various fields are sharing their views on their activities, experiences, challenges faced, and future action plans. This meeting serves as a platform for mutual discussion on various issues affecting public life.
Special Discussion on Demographic Changes
Demographic shifts taking place in the country and the resulting social developments were among the key topics discussed at the meeting. RSS sources stated that representatives expressed their views on the need to study demographic balance, its future impact on society, and demographic changes occurring in various regions. Opinions were expressed that the demographic issue should be examined not just in terms of numbers, but from social, economic, and cultural perspectives. The meeting placed significant emphasis on the need to factor in demographic shifts in the country's future planning.
Concern Over Drug Abuse Among Youth
The rising drug abuse among youth is another major issue being discussed at the meeting. Representatives felt that social organizations need to work more actively on this issue, which affects the future of the youth. Discussions are underway on awareness programs, family-level awakening, and the role of educational institutions to keep youth away from drugs. Youth are a vital force in nation-building; therefore, the meeting focused on the need to foster healthy lifestyles, discipline, and a responsible civic spirit among them.
Emphasis on 'Panch Parivartan'
The meeting also emphasized the 'Panch Parivartan' program, which integrates aspects such as social harmony, strengthening the family system, environmental protection, national self-awareness (Swabhavana), and the discharge of civic duties. Through this program, the RSS highlighted that every individual must recognize their responsibility to bring about positive change in society. The Sangh believes that a stronger family system strengthens society, and increased social harmony further solidifies national unity. Enhancing public participation in environmental protection was also discussed as part of future action plans.
Discussion on the Indian Development Model
Discussions are being held on the Indian concept of development, which posits that development should not be measured solely by economic growth, but should also consider the welfare of all sections of society, cultural values, environmental protection, and social responsibility. Based on their experiences, various organizations explained the need to coordinate the roles of rural areas, farmers, workers, students, women, and youth in national development.
Priority on Coordination Rather Than Decisions
The RSS clarified that this meeting is not a decision-making body, but a platform established for various Sangh-inspired organizations to share their activities, learn from each other's experiences, and work with greater coordination in the future. It is believed that increased information exchange among organizations working in various fields will create opportunities to resolve public issues more effectively. The meeting also discussed maintaining ongoing dialogue with governments, public institutions, and social groups when necessary.
Focus on Connecting with Youth
At a time when technology is changing rapidly, the question of how organizations should connect with youth is also gaining importance. Reportedly, discussions are underway on the mindset of the new generation, their aspirations, social responsibility, and ways to increase their participation in nation-building. Ideas are being explored to leverage modern technological platforms to foster a spirit of service, social consciousness, and responsibility toward the nation among youth.
National Recognition for Visakhapatnam
Hosting the RSS All-India Coordination Meeting in Visakhapatnam has once again brought national prominence to Andhra Pradesh. With prominent representatives from all corners of the country arriving in Visakhapatnam, a special atmosphere has prevailed in the city. Visakhapatnam is already recognized as a prominent city in industrial, educational, defense, and maritime sectors. Hosting such national-level meetings further enhances the city's reputation.
The three-day RSS All-India Coordination Meeting concludes on the evening of August 21. Discussions on issues such as demographic changes, the problem of youth drug abuse, social harmony, family values, environmental protection, civic duties, and the Indian development model will guide future social initiatives. The unique feature of this meeting is that organizations working in diverse fields nationwide shared their experiences on a single platform. Whether this all-India coordination meeting held in Visakhapatnam will contribute to a nationwide discourse on social issues and what changes it will bring to future action plans will become clear in the coming days.
