Chikkadpally, Trinet News August 21: The birth anniversary celebrations of melodious singer, best teacher, and prominent writer Haimavathi Bheemanna were grandly held under the joint auspices of 'Bheemanna Sahithi Nidhi' and 'Kalanilayam' cultural service organization at the Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika in Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, Chikkadpally.
Telangana's first Assembly Speaker and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Sirikonda Madhusudhana Chary, attended the event as the chief guest. He presented the late 'Kothuri Venkata Lakshmi - Kothuri Subbaiah Dikshitulu' memorial award for the year 2026 to eminent writer and poet Dr. Ketavarapu Rajashree. The award comprised a cash prize of Rs. 5,116/-, a citation, a memento, and a shawl.
Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the continuous efforts of encouraging poets and writers for the past 21 years. Prior to the meeting, enchanting classical dance performances presented by the disciples of J. Renuka Prabhakar, President of Manjira Academy of Kuchipudi Dance and renowned dance guru, mesmerized the audience.
The event was attended by former Registrar of Telangana University Prof. B. Gauri Shankar, Assistant Professor Dr. Koya Koteshwara Rao, writer and organization president Haimavathi Bheemanna, former DSP Sunkara Satyanarayana, prominent writer Dr. Guruvada Shobha Perindevi, and Kalanilayam President and Secretary M. Surender and M. Pushpalatha, among others.
