TG Safe officials conducted raids on Sahil Foods units in the city. Inspections were carried out at 5 manufacturing units belonging to Sahil Foods in Premavatipet near Katedan.
Due to violations of food safety regulations, officials suspended the FSSAI licenses and registrations of 4 units. Officials ordered the suspension of operations at those units.
During inspections at the snack manufacturing centers, authorities identified accumulated food waste, negligence in machinery maintenance, and a lack of proper ventilation. Suspecting food adulteration, officials collected 11 samples.
Authorities seized 55 tonnes of food products that had non-compliant labeling. The value of the seized food items is estimated to be Rs 33.94 lakhs.
It was also found that food items were stored directly on the floor, and staff members were chewing gutkha and pan masala while manufacturing various products.
