Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangam (TBGKS) State President Miriyala Rajireddy has called for making the 'Singareni Karmika Garjana' public meeting, to be held in Godavarikhani on Wednesday, October 14, a grand success for the resolution of Singareni workers' problems.
He attended as the chief guest at a meeting held on Monday at VKP Mine under the chairmanship of RG-2 Area Vice President Aili Srinivas. On this occasion, 50 workers joined the TBGKS. Union leaders welcomed the newly joined workers by draping traditional scarves around them. Later, the wall poster for the Karmika Garjana public meeting was unveiled.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajireddy stated that during the tenure of TBGKS as the recognized union, it continuously fought for workers' rights and achieved many successes. He noted that the union always stands by the workers for their welfare, protection of rights, and job security. He said that through the efforts of their union, jobs were provided to 14,000 people through compassionate appointments and 3,800 people through external notifications. He added that TBGKS has the history of securing jobs in a single phase for another 3,250 people whose cases were pending during the tenure of national trade unions.
He criticized the current Congress government and the recognized-cum-representative unions for giving numerous promises to workers before the elections and failing to fulfill them afterward. He urged workers to question the delay in the implementation of promises and to unite and agitate for their rights. He explained that the main objective of the Karmika Garjana meeting is to exert pressure on the government and Singareni management to resolve workers' issues. He appealed to the workers to attend the meeting on October 14 in large numbers.
