Speakers stated that the life of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, who led the Indian independence movement and brought freedom to the country through the path of non-violence, is an inspiration to the world. Hyderabad, October 2 (Trinet News): On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, a special program was jointly organized by Sri Thyagaraya Ganasabha and the Telangana State Department of Language and Culture on Thursday at the Kala Vedika in Ganasabha.
As part of the 'Endaro Mahanubhavulu - Madhura Smrutulu' program, prominent literateur and Telangana Rachayitala Sangham President Professor Naleswaram Sankaram attended the meeting as the chief guest. Sri Thyagaraya Ganasabha President Kala V.S. Janardhanamurthy presided over the meeting. Svara Kesari Srinatharao and singer D.M.V. Subba Rao participated as distinguished guests, while Ganasabha governing body member Bandi Srinivas participated as an intimate guest.
On this occasion, floral tributes were paid to Gandhiji's portrait. Speakers stated that Gandhiji's principles such as non-violence, Satyagraha, peace, and harmony are much needed for today's society. They called upon the youth to take the Mahatma's ideals as an inspiration and become partners in the country's development.
Later, a musical program featuring Gandhiji's favorite songs and patriotic songs mesmerized the audience.
