In a decisive push towards better urban sanitation, civic bodies under the Consortium of Urban and Rural Enterprises (CURE) have introduced a strict 'No Bin, No Trade Licence' policy. This initiative directly ties the issuance and renewal of commercial licences to proper on-site waste management compliance.
Under the new guidelines, all commercial establishments, including retail shops, eateries, and business hubs, must mandatorily maintain segregated bins for wet and dry waste within their premises. Municipal inspectors will verify adherence to these waste segregation protocols before clearing any trade licence applications.
Authorities aim to curb rampant littering and streamline solid waste management across commercial zones. The policy is slated for full implementation by August 2026, pushing local businesses to adopt sustainable waste handling practices as a core requirement for operations.
