National Sports Day celebrations were held grandly within the Halia municipality limits to mark the birth anniversary of hockey legend and the father of Indian hockey, Major Dhyan Chand.
A special rally with students was organized under the auspices of the Private Physical Education Teachers Association. Students participated enthusiastically in the rally, which started from the Halia bus stand and went up to the main junction. The rally was flagged off by Dr. Kukudala Anjaneyulu, Chairman of Sri Shloka Group of Schools.
Speaking on the occasion, he stated that sports are essential for the physical and mental development of students, and that sports help foster qualities such as discipline, perseverance, and unity. The event was attended by senior physical education teachers Venkatarami Reddy, CH Dominic, Rambabu, mandal president Buyya Paramesh, physical education teachers Chandrasekhar, Mangya Naik, Anil, Kiran Kumar, Parvataalu, Paramesh, Nayum, and senior athletes MD Anwar Khan, Kotesh, Pilli Naresh, Suresh, and others.
