In view of intensifying monsoon spells, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in coordination with various state governments, has stepped up flood mitigation efforts in vulnerable districts.
Authorities in flood-prone zones have been placed on high alert. Contingent forces and rescue teams have been positioned strategically to ensure a swift response to potential inundation or heavy downpours.
Officials have urged residents in low-lying areas to remain cautious and avoid crossing overflowing streams or rivulets. District-level control rooms are now operational round-the-clock to monitor weather developments and coordinate emergency relief operations.
