Fighting for the rights of marginalized communities is the true tribute to Ailamma, said Minister Ponnam Prabhakar at the death anniversary event of Chakali Ailamma held at Ravindra Bharathi.
Ravindra Bharathi, Trinet News, September 10: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the people's government is steering the state toward progress. The death anniversary of Chakali Ailamma, a Telangana armed struggle warrior and a great leader who bravely fought for the rights of Bahujans, was grandly commemorated at Ravindra Bharathi. State Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vakiti Srihari, Government Special Advisor V. Hanumantha Rao, BC Commission Chairman Niranjan, and MLA Veerlapalli Shankar participated in the event. On this occasion, ministers and public representatives garlanded the portrait of Chakali Ailamma and paid rich tributes.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the government is giving top priority to social justice and the welfare of weaker sections. He stated that honoring the services and fighting spirit of Chakali Ailamma, a medical college has been named after her. He added that the government is implementing numerous schemes for public welfare. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also stated that the central government must enumerate the BC population in the upcoming census. He noted that accurate statistics are necessary to ensure justice for BCs on a proportional basis.
The minister clarified that the people's government is moving forward for social justice, equality, and self-respect in alignment with the ideals of great figures like Chakali Ailamma.
Minister Vakiti Srihari said that Chakali Ailamma was a great leader who fought for Bahujans and the rights of marginalized sections. He praised Chakali Ailamma as a courageous woman who stood by the poor and weaker sections, defying social injustice, exploitation, and the feudal system. He asserted that today's youth need to carry forward the fighting spirit of great leaders rather than merely observing their birth and death anniversaries. He recalled that great figures like Sarvai Papanna, Panduga Sayanna, and Chakali Ailamma fought for the self-respect and rights of marginalized sections.
He expressed deep anguish that discrimination persists even though society has advanced significantly. He stated that everyone has the responsibility to fight for the rights of marginalized communities until social inequalities are completely eradicated. The minister called upon everyone to take Chakali Ailamma's courage, self-respect, and fighting spirit as an inspiration to work towards building an egalitarian society.
