Hyderabad, Trinet News, September 5: Former minister and BRS Assembly Deputy Floor Leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav warned that the party will not let this government off the hook until it implements all the promises made to the public. On Saturday, MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav participated in a massive student rally organized by the BRS party in Padma Rao Nagar, demanding the immediate release of pending fee reimbursement dues by the government. A large number of students from various colleges participated in the rally from SP College to the NTR statue in Padma Rao Nagar.
Speaking at a meeting held after the rally, MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav expressed strong anger that the Congress government is toying with the lives of lakhs of students by failing to pay Rs 12,000 crores in fee reimbursement dues. He said that due to the government's actions, students and their parents are facing severe mental stress. He explained that because the government has not cleared fee reimbursements even after the completion of studies, management of educational institutions are withholding certificates, preventing students from pursuing higher education. He noted that late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had introduced fee reimbursement precisely so that poor students would not face financial difficulties in pursuing higher education. He added that the KCR government ensured timely payment of fee reimbursements without causing any trouble to students.
He criticized that while the KCR government provided financial assistance of Rs 20,000 per student under the Overseas scheme to help poor and middle-class students pursue higher education abroad, the Congress government is failing to do so. This has forced many students to discontinue their studies midway, he criticized. He stated that it is because of the Congress government's attitude that lakhs of students have been forced to take to the streets. He lashed out that the government came to power by making impractical promises before the elections and has betrayed all sections of society even after a thousand days in office without implementing them.
He pointed out that the public is observing the Chief Minister cutting ribbons on development works undertaken during the KCR government and taking credit for them. Everyone knows that work on the Sanathnagar TIMS hospital started during their tenure, and the construction of the Musarambagh and Saidabad bridges also began under the KCR government, he said. Yet, the Chief Minister is blatantly lying that his own government built them, he criticized. He stated that the Chief Minister, having his eye on the assets of polytechnic colleges in the state, is conspiring to hand them over to private individuals and organizations. Expressing concern, he said the future of polytechnic education will be placed in jeopardy due to the government's GO 97. He said plans are afoot to integrate polytechnic colleges with the Public-Private Partnership-run Young India Skill University and demanded the immediate revocation of GO 97.
He criticized that the government is shamelessly publicizing that it has achieved grand development in a thousand days of rule, apart from cheating all sections of people. Questioning how they can call it 'Praja Palana' when leaders and ministers of their own party are criticizing their corruption and loot, he slammed them for dragging the state's reputation to Delhi due to internal bickering and incompetence. He questioned whether the manifesto did not promise scooters for female students, unemployment allowance, and increased pensions for persons with disabilities. He declared that stopping abusive language, the BRS will fight against the government on behalf of the people, both inside and outside the Assembly, until the promises made to the public are implemented. Asserting that people are fed up with the Congress rule, he stated that the days of the government's downfall are drawing near.
