Should KCR, who took Rs 21 crore and stayed in his farmhouse without attending the Assembly, resign? Is it corruption when in power and blackmail politics in opposition? Why are you scared, shouting 'Ponguleti... Pongu'? Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy questioned former minister Harish Rao.

Hyderabad, Trinet News, September 12: Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy strongly condemned the political allegations made by the opposition using the 22A lands issue as a shield. He questioned why the government and he were being targeted with false propaganda when the government was ready to find solutions to the land problems of the people.

“They are asking me to resign if I have any shame or conscience. But shouldn't those who enjoyed power for all these years with public money and failed to solve people's problems resign instead?” the Minister demanded. He stated that he takes only one rupee salary per month and works continuously for the resolution of public issues, including the construction of Indiramma houses and Indiramma towers for the poor. “Are you asking me, who works for the people, to resign?” he questioned.

He questioned Harish Rao, asking if KCR, who has taken 21 crore rupees from the government so far and kept his face hidden from the Assembly and the public, should resign. Corruption when in power, and blackmail when in opposition? “Corruption when in power, and blackmail when in opposition. That is what you are doing even now. This is not a government that will be scared of your blackmail and empty threats,” he made it clear.

Why are you scared, shouting 'Ponguleti... Pongu'? The Minister strongly responded to the remarks made by opposition leaders repeatedly mentioning his name and shouting 'Ponguleti... Pongu'. “Why do you keep saying 'Ponguleti... Pongu'? Why so much fear? If milk boils over in a ceremony, it is auspicious. But if the Godavari and Krishna rivers flood in fury, not only you, but your party will also be wiped out without a trace,” he remarked.

He clarified that just as he had stated back then in the Khammam meeting that KCR cannot become Chief Minister again even if he rolls under his feet, it will be the Indiramma government that will sit in power in the coming elections as well, right from this very platform.
