Trinet News, August 26: A horrific road accident took place near Dvarakunta in Kodad mandal. Five passengers died on the spot and around twenty others sustained serious injuries when a travel bus crashed into a stationary container truck.
According to reports, the private travel bus traveling from Hyderabad to Eluru violently rammed into the container parked near Dvarakunta. Due to the severe impact, the front portion of the bus was completely crushed. Heartbreaking scenes were witnessed at the accident site as several passengers were trapped inside the bus.
Immediately after the accident, trapped passengers cried out for help. Locals rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations. Upon receiving information, police and fire department personnel arrived at the scene and worked hard to rescue those trapped inside the bus.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. Doctors stated that the condition of two of them is extremely critical, raising concerns that the death toll may rise. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained; police have launched an investigation into potential factors such as overspeeding and reckless driving. Police stated that they are in the process of gathering details of the deceased.
