Telangana to Deploy 10,000 Electric Swachh Autos with QR Monitoring by Aug 2026
In a major push for urban sanitation, Telangana is set to procure 10,000 electric Swachh Auto Tippers equipped with QR code monitoring across GHMC, CMCs, and MMCs by August 2026.

The Government of Telangana has announced a major initiative to upgrade sanitation and waste management across urban local bodies in the state. Under the CURE sanitation framework, authorities will procure 10,000 electric Swachh Auto Tippers for deployment in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), as well as various City and Municipal Corporations (CMCs and MMCs).
The rollout of these eco-friendly electric vehicles is scheduled to be completed by August 2026. This transition is aimed at curbing carbon emissions associated with conventional fossil-fuel vehicles while streamlining daily door-to-door garbage collection in rapidly expanding urban settlements.
To ensure operational efficiency and accountability, the municipal administration has mandated a QR code-based monitoring system. This digital tracking mechanism will enable authorities to oversee garbage collection schedules and route compliance in real-time, significantly improving civic service delivery.
