In a rare feat, noted singer Mrs. Malladi Usha Rani has set a remarkable record by singing 111 film songs continuously for 12 hours, earning four prestigious records and awards through this musical performance.
Hyderabad, September 23 (Trinet News): On September 19, at a special musical event held at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha in Chikkadpally, Usha Rani performed a total of 111 songs alongside 20 co-singers. A major highlight of the program was the selection and performance of film songs originally rendered by about 50 prominent female playback singers spanning from 1932 to 2024.
She lent her unique voice to songs from various generations, ranging from early-generation singer Rao Balasaraswathi Devi to contemporary singer Geetha Madhuri. She captivated the audience by performing tracks of legendary playback singers including Srirangam Gopalaratnam, Jikki, Leela, P. Susheela, and S. Janaki.
Following this stellar performance, Malladi Usha Rani earned recognition in the International Wonder Book of Records, Indian Icon Awards, Wow Music Nandi Awards, and Global Multi-Talent Awards.
The event was jointly organized by Srivaram Susvaralu, Global Talented Musical Arts Foundation, Indian Cultural Icon Awards, Usha Music and Cultural Organization, and PMSSS organizations. On this occasion, Usha Rani received her awards from chief guests including Bingi Narender Goud, Murthy Sriram, Naga Sivaram, Trinath Rao, and Sudharani.
The guests lauded Usha Rani for her dedication to music and for setting a brand new record by performing 111 songs with the support of 20 co-singers.
