With the objective of strengthening government schools and keeping his word, local Sarpanch Nathaala Venkat Reddy has demonstrated exemplary generosity. A grand bicycle distribution event was held on Wednesday for students at the Zilla Parishad High School in Gajula Malkapuram within the mandal limits.
The Sarpanch identified four poor students who were facing severe hardships by walking about 7 kilometers every day to attend this school. Intending to prevent students from dropping out of school due to transportation difficulties, he purchased four bicycles worth Rs. 6,000 each, totaling Rs. 24,000 from his own pocket, and presented them as gifts.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch Nathaala Venkat Reddy stated that he made this small gesture to ensure that no student's education is halted due to long distances. Furthermore, he made a sensational promise from the dais that in the coming days too, he will identify poor students coming from afar every year and distribute bicycles to them at his own expense. He clarified that he will strive further for the development of the school and the creation of infrastructure in the future.
Headmaster Chekuri Anjaiah said that the Sarpanch's initiative in recognizing the students' hardships and responding in a timely manner is inspiring to everyone.
