Press Release 25.08.2026: Former Minister and Sanath Nagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav has called upon everyone to plant saplings extensively for environmental protection. On Tuesday, as part of the Vanamahotsavam program, he planted saplings at Venkatrao Park in Shinde Colony, Ramgopalpet Division, and later distributed saplings to local residents.
Following the plantation, he inspected the park. When locals brought up various development works needed in the park, the MLA instructed officials to take immediate action. He urged everyone to plant saplings around their homes and protect them, explaining that increased greenery helps control pollution and enables a healthy lifestyle.
He stated that at the time of Telangana's formation, the state's forest cover stood at 19,854 square kilometers. After KCR became Chief Minister, the Haritha Haram program was initiated to plant saplings on a large scale in government office premises, along roadsides, and on vacant government lands. As a result, forest cover increased to 21,214 square kilometers by 2021, he noted. He emphasized that what we should leave behind for future generations is not property or status, but a healthy life.
