HYDERABAD, TRINET NEWS, SEPTEMBER 19: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that the services of Singareni workers, who toil underground to bring light to Telangana's soil and turn their sweat into black gold, are invaluable.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy noted that Singareni families have been waiting for decades for title deeds on the housing plots where they reside. He stated that in accordance with the suggestions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the state government is taking action to put an end to their long wait. He mentioned that a legal solution is being provided to the housing plot issues in the Singareni coal belt area, accelerating the process of granting rights to eligible families.
On Saturday, Minister Ponguleti reviewed the issue of Singareni workers' housing plots with officials at the Secretariat. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponguleti stated that the issue is being resolved by taking into consideration GO No. 76 issued during the tenure of late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, alongside examining the nature of the lands, government and Singareni rights, current residential conditions, and legal aspects.
45-Day Deadline for Pending Applications:
He directed officials to resolve pending applications within 45 days in accordance with the orders of the High Court across the Singareni coal belt districts of Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Adilabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, and Jagtial.
He announced that a three-member committee has been formed in each district to examine and resolve pending applications. These committees will function with the District Collector as the Chairman, and a representative from the Singareni Collieries Company Limited and the District Registrar as members. He stated that if any irregularities or rule-related issues are identified during the scrutiny of applications, they should be reviewed according to existing laws and regulations and appropriate decisions should be taken.
He stated that the government considers it its responsibility to provide legal rights to families who have built houses and lived in the Singareni area for decades, and that the process will be completed swiftly in accordance with rules to ensure justice for eligible families.
