Tarnaka, Trinet News, September 3: Osmania University, renowned as an educational beacon of Telangana state, is gearing up for its 85th convocation. Vice-Chancellor Professor Kumar Moluguram announced that the convocation ceremony will be held on September 8 at 9:00 AM at the OU Tagore Auditorium.
He revealed these details during a press conference held at the OU Guest House, alongside Registrar Professor G. Naresh Reddy, OSD Professor S. Jitendra Kumar Naik, and Controller of Examinations Professor Sudhakar Reddy.
While Telangana State Governor and OU Chancellor C.P. Radhakrishnan will preside over the convocation, Bharat Biotech Founder and Chairman Dr. Krishna M. Ella will attend as the chief guest and deliver the convocation address.
A total of 640 research degrees (PhDs) will be awarded to students and researchers from various departments across the 12 faculties of the university. Additionally, 71 gold medals will be presented to students who demonstrated outstanding performance in their respective fields.
Emphasis on Discipline and Special Arrangements:
The VC stated that teaching, non-teaching staff, and various committees are making arrangements to conduct the convocation grandly and with utmost discipline, befitting the university's prestige. He mentioned that special seating and parking facilities are being arranged for degree and gold medal recipients, their family members, dignitaries, sponsors, and the media.
Live Streaming and Special Selfie Points:
Officials announced arrangements are underway to live-stream the event via YouTube, and the official link will be released in advance. They clarified that only officially authorized university photography and videography will be permitted inside the auditorium. Attendees are advised not to enter the main event zone (the 'well') for personal photos or videos.
Special photography and selfie points will be set up for students, researchers, and their family members, officials added, noting that official photographs of the convocation will later be made available on the OU official website.
