RAVINDRA BHARATI, MAJOR NEWS 15: Noted theatre and film actress, writer, and director Sreeja Sadineni stated that there is an urgent need to promote modern street plays and pass them on to future generations. She remarked that giving visual form to casually spoken proverbs and performing them on stage is no easy task.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, Sreeja mentioned that 'Tantra Sametham', a modern street play performed by Sreejaya Arts Hyderabad at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha as part of the 55th anniversary celebrations of Vamsi Art Theatres, greatly entertained the audience. She noted that at a time when today's youth are moving away from Telugu, such art forms serve as a medium to convey meaningful messages to them.
While proverbs are heard daily, many do not fully understand their meanings. Expressing satisfaction, she stated that rather than explaining them in words, their team succeeded in delivering the true and meaningful essence of these proverbs to everyone through drama.
Written, directed, and acted in by Sreeja Sadineni, the play also featured performances by Shashidhar Ghanapuram, High Court Sreelakshmi, R.K. Yodha, and Akhil Srivatsa, which captivated the audience.
