ఎమ్మెల్యే గంగుల కమలాకర్ మాట్లాడుతూ .. ‘నా చిన్నతనంలో కోటి గారి పాటలెన్నో విన్నాను. ఈ రోజు ఇలా ఆయన్ను ఇక్కడ కలవడం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఈ యాభై ఏళ్లలో టెక్నాలజీ ఎంతో మారింది. ఒకప్పుడు గ్రామఫోన్లో ఆయన పాటలు వినేవాడ్ని. ఆయన మ్యూజిక్, పాటల వల్లే చాలా సినిమాలు విజయవంతమయ్యాయి. మా తరానికి కోటి గారి గురించి చాలా తెలుసు. కానీ ప్రస్తుతం ఉన్న జెన్ జీ ఆడియెన్స్కి ఈ ఈవెంట్తో కోటి గారు అంటే ఏంటో తెలుస్తుంది. నవంబర్లో జరిగే ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి నేను కూడా వస్తాను. నేను తీస్తున్న చిత్రాలకు కూడా కోటి గారే సంగీతాన్ని ఇవ్వాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను. ఈ భూమ్మీద గాలి ఉన్నంత వరకు కోటి గారి పాటలు నిలిచి ఉంటాయి’ అని అన్నారు.
సంగీత దర్శకుడు కోటి మాట్లాడుతూ .. ‘ఈ రోజు ఇక్కడకు రావడంతోనే మా అమ్మానాన్నలు గుర్తుకు వచ్చారు. నా తండ్రి సాలూరి రాజేశ్వర్ గారికి చెడ్డ పేరు తీసుకు రాకూడదు అని ప్రతీక్షణం ఆలోచిస్తూ పని చేస్తూ వచ్చాను. నేను ప్రతీ సినిమాని, ప్రతీ పాటను మొదటి అవకాశంగానే భావించి కష్టపడి పని చేశాను. తరతరాలు గుర్తుండిపోవాలనే ప్రతీ పాటకు పని చేశాను. రాజ్ కోటిగా ఎన్నో అద్భుతమైన పాటల్ని చేశాం. ఆ తర్వాత కోటిగా నా ప్రయాణంలో గొప్ప గొప్ప పాటల్ని ఇచ్చాను. సంగీత ప్రియుల హృదయాల్లో కోటి పాటలు ఎప్పుడూ నిలిచి ఉంటాయి. ఇప్పుడు అలాంటి పాటల్ని ఎవ్వరూ క్రియేట్ చేయలేరు అని ఛాలెంజ్ చేయగలను. బీట్స్ గురించి రాజ్, నేను ఎంతో స్టడీ చేశాం. మా పాటలకు చిరంజీవి గారి బ్రేక్ డ్యాన్స్ కూడా తోడవ్వడంతో ఇప్పటికీ ప్రజాదరణ దక్కుతోంది. నవంబర్లో జరిగే ఈ కాన్సర్ట్లో అందరి హృదయాలకు దగ్గరైన పాటల్ని పాడతాం. 1984 నుంచి 1994 వరకు రాజ్ కోటి ద్వయం అందరినీ ఉర్రూతలూగించింది. ఆ తర్వాత నా ఒంటరి ప్రయాణంలో చేసిన ప్రతీ పాట హిట్ అయింది. ప్రతీ పాటను ఆడియెన్స్ ఆదరించి నన్ను ఈ స్థాయిలో నిలబెట్టారు. నేను ఎప్పుడూ అడ్వాన్స్డ్గానే ఆలోచిస్తూ ఉండేవాడిని. నా దగ్గర పని చేసిన రెహమాన్, దేవీ శ్రీ ప్రసాద్, తమన్, హారిస్ జయరాజ్ ఇప్పుడు గొప్ప స్థాయిలో ఉండటం ఆనందంగా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఒక్కో పాటకు ఒక్కో బీట్ ఇవ్వడం నా అదృష్టం. ఇదంతా ఆ దేవుడు, నా తల్లిదండ్రుల ఆశీర్వాదం వల్లే జరిగింది. నా కోసం ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి వచ్చిన ప్రతీ ఒక్కరికీ ధన్యవాదాలు. నేను చిరంజీవి గారు, బాలకృష్ణ గారు, వెంకటేష్ గారు, నాగార్జున గారు ఇలా అందరి హీరోలతోనూ పని చేశాను. సినీ ఇండస్ట్రీ అంతా కదిలి వచ్చి నా ఈ కాన్సర్ట్ను విజయవంతం చేయాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను’ అని అన్నారు.
మంజుల రావు జూపల్లి మాట్లాడుతూ .. ‘ఎన్ని కోట్లు సంపాదించినా కూడా మేం కొన్ని కాలాల పాటే అందరికీ గుర్తుంటాం. కానీ కోటి గారి లాంటి వారు మాత్రం తరతరాలకు గుర్తుండిపోతారు. ‘మనతో’ టీం నుంచి కొందరు నా దగ్గరకు వచ్చారు. ఈ ఈవెంట్ గురించి చెప్పారు. కోటి గారు అని చెప్పడంతో ఈవెంట్కి వస్తానని వెంటనే చెప్పేశాను. కోటి గారు ప్రతీ హీరో సినిమాకి పని చేశారు. ఇప్పటి తరానికి ఇది సాధ్యం అవుతుందా?.. ఆయన పాటలు గొంతు నుంచి కాకుండా నాభి నుంచి వస్తాయి. ఇలాంటి కార్యక్రమాలకు నా వంతు సాయం చేసే అవకాశం దొరకడం నా అదృష్టం’ అని అన్నారు.

The 1980s and 1990s witnessed the phenomenal popularity of the Raj-Koti duo, who created a distinct musical identity with their memorable compositions. A media conference was held on Monday to officially announce the event and unveil details about the upcoming concert. MLA and former minister Gangula Kamalakar attended the event as the chief guest and launched the official poster of ‘Koti 50: The Biggest Live Concert in Hyderabad – The Grandest Roar of His Legacy.’
The grand musical concert will take place on November 28 in Hyderabad. The event is expected to bring together music lovers and fans of Koti to celebrate his extraordinary journey and revisit some of the most memorable musical moments of his illustrious career.
MLA Gangula Kamalakar said, “I grew up listening to many of Koti garu’s songs. It is a great pleasure to meet him here today like this. Technology has changed tremendously over the past 50 years. There was a time when I used to listen to his songs on a gramophone. His music and songs played a major role in making many films successful. Our generation knows a lot about Koti garu. However, through this event, today’s Gen Z audience will also get to know who Koti garu is and understand his contribution to music. I will also attend the programme taking place on November 28. I wish Koti garu would compose music for the films I am making as well. As long as there is air on this earth, Koti garu’s songs will continue to live on.”
Music director Koti said, “Coming here today reminded me of my parents. I have always worked with the thought that I should never bring a bad name to my father, Saluri Rajeswara Rao garu. I treated every film and every song as my first opportunity and worked extremely hard. I worked on every song with the intention that it should be remembered for generations. As Raj-Koti, we created several wonderful songs together. Later, during my solo journey as Koti, I delivered many great songs as well. Koti’s songs will always remain in the hearts of music lovers. I can confidently challenge that nobody can create songs like those today.
Raj and I studied beats extensively. The popularity of our songs was further enhanced by Chiranjeevi garu’s breakdance performances, which were associated with many of them, and they continue to be popular even today. At the concert taking place in November, we will perform songs that are close to everyone’s hearts.
From 1984 to 1994, the Raj-Koti duo created a sensation among audiences. After that, every song I composed during my solo journey became a hit. The audience embraced every song and brought me to this level. I always used to think ahead of my time. It makes me very happy to see A.R. Rahman, Devi Sri Prasad, Thaman and Harris Jayaraj, who worked with me, now reaching such great heights. It was my good fortune to give a unique beat to each song. Everything happened because of God’s grace and the blessings of my parents. I thank every single person who came to this event for me.”
Manjula Rao Jupally said, “No matter how many crores we earn, we will be remembered by people only for a certain period of time. But people like Koti garu will be remembered for generations. A few members of the Manatho team approached me and told me about this event. The moment they mentioned that it was for Koti garu, I immediately agreed to attend. Koti garu has worked on films featuring almost every hero. Is something like that possible for the current generation? His songs don’t come merely from the throat; they come from the navel. I feel fortunate to get an opportunity to contribute in my own way to programmes like this.”
