Legendary music director Koti has completed an incredible 50-year journey in the Telugu film industry, delivering numerous blockbuster albums and timeless songs over five decades. The 1980s and 1990s witnessed the phenomenal popularity of the Raj-Koti duo, followed by Koti's successful independent career scoring music for several chartbuster films.
Celebrating this remarkable milestone, Manatho Entertainments is organizing a grand musical extravaganza titled ‘Koti 50: The Biggest Live Concert in Hyderabad – The Grandest Roar of His Legacy’ on November 28. The event is sponsored by SMS Group of Companies, Vishista Gold & Diamonds, NSR Developers, Naveen Gold & Bros, GNR Mayukha Infra, and Kanchipuram Laxmi Varahi Silks.
A media conference was held on Monday to officially announce the event. MLA and former minister Gangula Kamalakar attended as the chief guest and launched the official poster.
MLA Gangula Kamalakar said, “I grew up listening to many of Koti garu’s songs. It is a great pleasure to meet him here today. Technology has changed tremendously over the past 50 years; there was a time when I used to listen to his songs on a gramophone. Our generation knows a lot about him, and through this event, today’s Gen Z audience will also get to know his immense contribution. I will attend the programme on November 28, and I wish Koti garu would compose music for the films I am making as well. As long as there is air on this earth, his songs will live on.”
Music director Koti said, “Coming here today reminded me of my parents. I always worked with the thought that I should never bring a bad name to my father, Saluri Rajeswara Rao garu, treating every film as my first opportunity. As Raj-Koti, and later in my solo journey, I delivered many great songs that will always remain in the hearts of music lovers. I challenge that nobody can create songs like those today. Raj and I studied beats extensively, and Chiranjeevi garu’s breakdance performances further enhanced their popularity. At the November concert, we will perform songs close to everyone’s hearts. It makes me happy to see A.R. Rahman, Devi Sri Prasad, Thaman, and Harris Jayaraj, who once worked with me, reaching such great heights. I hope the entire film industry comes forward to make this concert a success.”
Manjula Rao Jupally said, “No matter how many crores we earn, we are remembered only for a short time, but people like Koti garu are remembered for generations. When the Manatho team told me this event was for Koti garu, I immediately agreed to attend. His songs come from the soul, and I feel fortunate to contribute to such programmes.”
