HYDERABAD, RAVINDRA BHARATHI, TRINET NEWS, AUGUST 29: The Bharatanatyam debut performance of Kumari Akshita, a disciple of renowned dance and music exponent and Varna Arts Academy Director Dr. Smita Madhav, was organized under the auspices of Varna Arts Academy at Ravindra Bharathi.
Classical vocalist Harini Rao attended the event as the chief guest and inaugurated it by lighting the traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion, she commended Akshita, daughter of Aruna Balasubramanian, for undergoing rigorous training in Bharatanatyam and making her debut. She noted that Guru Dr. Smita Madhav is imparting dance training to numerous students through Varna Arts Academy to promote Indian culture and arts, and wished Akshita success in staging many more performances in the future. Bhargavi Parameswaran, Head of the Bharatanatyam Department at the Academy, provided support and cooperation.
Kumari Akshita Sharma is a 9th-grade student at The Future Kids School. Driven by a deep passion for dance at a young age, she began her primary training under Uma Radha and joined Varna Arts Academy four years ago. Under the dedicated and disciplined guidance of gurus Smita Madhav and Bhargavi Parameswaran, she excelled and earned opportunities to perform alongside her gurus. She has participated in prestigious dance events at venues including the Pashupatinath Temple, Kashi, Ayodhya, and Tiruchanur, earning widespread appreciation. In addition to dance, she has won awards in Carnatic music, classical music, and painting.
Speaking at the event, Kumari Akshita said that her Bharatanatyam debut, made possible by divine grace, the encouragement of elders, and the invaluable guidance of her gurus, stands as a major milestone in her life. She expressed her fortune at having her debut held amidst the presence and blessings of her friends and relatives.
