Hyderabad, Chikkadpally, Trinet News, August 30: Telugu Academy Chairman Kurapati Venkata Narayana stated that veteran actress Jamuna's acting style, which effortlessly conveyed all nine emotions (navarasas), along with her disciplined life, serves as an inspiration to many.
The birth anniversary celebrations of the renowned cinematic actress Jamuna Ramanarao were organized by Vamsi Arts Theaters International at the Kala Subba Rao Kala Vedika in Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha.
Attending as the chief guest, Jamuna's daughter, Sravanthi Vamsi, presented the Jamuna Ramanarao Mahanandi Awards to prominent personalities from both Telugu states representing various fields, as well as to overseas Andhras. Speaking on the occasion, she said, "Jamuna was a mother to me, but I didn't realize in my childhood that she was a beloved actress to crores of people." She added that artists never die and that thousands of people still watch her mother's films across various media today, ensuring she remains eternal. She also shared that Jamuna was very fond of actress Bhanumathi and mentioned that Ramaraju was adopted by her mother.
Noted director Relangi Narasimha Rao recalled that Jamuna was a major glamour star in the Telugu film industry of her time.
The event was attended by Telugu Academy Chairman Prof. Kurapati Venkata Narayana, Johny Basha, Janaki Rama Choudary and his wife, overseas Andhras Venkat Nagam and his wife, and K. Santhosh Kumar and his wife.
Prominent writer Dr. K.V. Krishna Kumari, anchor Sudhamayi, singer Geetanjali Sunkarapalli, Sailaja, and others participated on the stage.
