Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with representatives from TCS and Hyper Vault.
HYDERABAD, TRINET NEWS, SEPTEMBER 5: Hyper Vault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced the establishment of the country's largest Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center campus in Hyderabad. To this effect, the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government.
A delegation of TCS representatives met with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat on Saturday. The meeting was attended by IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Adluri Laxman Kumar, TCS CEO K. Krithivasan, COO Aarti Subramanian, Hyper Vault President V. Rajanna, Hyper Vault CEO and MD Dipesh Nanda, and OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Uday Rudraraju via video conference from the USA. Chief Secretary Sanjeev 3, Government Advisor K. Rama Krishna Rao, Invest Telangana CEO B. Ajith Reddy, TGIC MD K. Shashanka, Special Secretary for Industries Krishnaditya, Director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarty, and other senior officials were also present.
This cutting-edge AI data center campus will be developed in Hyderabad spanning over 250 acres with a capacity of 1 gigawatt (1,000 megawatts). Hyper Vault and its partner organizations will invest approximately Rs 70,000 crore for the construction and operation of this project. The project is expected to generate around 7,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The campus will provide the massive computing infrastructure required by the world's top AI companies, hyperscalers, and global enterprises. It will be built with advanced technologies such as high-performance computing systems and liquid cooling, making it one of the most advanced and largest AI infrastructure campuses in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that this is a historic project not only for Telangana but for the entire nation. He opined that Hyderabad is emerging as a global leader in the AI revolution. At a time when AI models and computing power are set to become critical public infrastructure in the future, having that capacity available within Telangana is a massive advantage for the state, he said. The Chief Minister congratulated the TCS representatives for coming forward to make a massive investment in Telangana and announced that the government will provide all necessary support and cooperation.
The Chief Minister remarked that this decision by TCS has fulfilled his dream, adding that a strong foundation has been laid for the development of Future City as envisioned. He described this project as a crucial step towards achieving the $3 trillion economy goal under the Telangana Rising Vision-2047.
This massive investment will create new opportunities not only in the AI and data center sectors but also in allied sectors such as power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering, and operations. The campus will be developed in an environmentally friendly manner with green energy and a water-neutral design.
The discussions for this project originated from a meeting held between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran in Davos in January 2026. Subsequently, the state government held several rounds of discussions with TCS representatives and brought the project to fruition within a few months. Despite competition from five other states in the country, Telangana successfully secured this prestigious project. With this project, the government's goal of making Hyderabad a global AI and data center hub has come much closer.
