HYDERABAD, TRINET NEWS, SEPTEMBER 1:
Marking CPS Betrayal Day, lecturers at Government City College staged a protest wearing black badges. The faculty demanded that the government scrap the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and immediately implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), emphasizing that a pension is crucial for the future security of employees.
Speaking on the occasion, they stated that it is the government's responsibility to provide financial security upon retirement to employees who dedicate many years of their lives to public service. They noted that a pension is not merely a financial benefit, but a right concerning an employee's future security.
Government City College Principal Anjan Kumar, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff participated in the protest, expressing their strong opposition to the CPS system. They called upon employees, teachers, and lecturers to unite in the movement to achieve their legitimate demands. The faculty warned that their agitation will continue until the CPS is abolished and the Old Pension Scheme is implemented.
