Hyderabad, Kachiguda, Trinet News, August 27: TDP National Propaganda Secretary J. Dasarath has demanded that the government extend the application deadline for new pensions provided to poor communities under the Telangana Cheyutha scheme by another month.
Speaking at a press conference held in Nallakunta on Thursday, he stated that there is a delay in issuing necessary certificates for persons with disabilities, weavers, toddy tappers, widows, and single women, forcing them to run around government offices.
He recalled that the Congress party had promised social security to every eligible person during the elections, and suggested that the government should now collect applications from the poor at the ground level and grant new pensions to those who are eligible. He demanded that officials take note of this issue, extend the application deadline, and also newly sanction old-age pensions.
