HYDERABAD, TRINET NEWS, SEPTEMBER 18:
Secunderabad DCC President Deepak John and PCC Spokesperson Gouri Satish lashed out at the KCR family, alleging that during the ten years of Telangana's formation, they encroached upon government and assigned lands worth thousands of crores under the guise of the Dharani portal.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Secunderabad District Congress Committee office on Friday, they welcomed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's decision to order a comprehensive inquiry into these land encroachments on the floor of the Assembly. They suggested that revenue officials conduct a full-scale survey of the government lands currently in the hands of the KCR family and that the government take immediate possession of them. They requested that the lands so recovered be distributed to poor Dalit communities.
Pointing out that KCR had stated in his 2004 election affidavit that he owned no land, they demanded that he explain to the public how his family became owners of hundreds of acres within such a short span. They alleged that the revenue system was crippled by using the Dharani portal as a tool, and that government lands were transferred into their own names. They strongly criticized that during the BRS rule, the 'possessors' (anubhavadaris) column was removed from the Dharani portal, alienating SCs and STDs from their lands. They stated that the lands and houses of lakhs of people were placed under the 22A prohibition list, causing severe hardship.
They challenged the Kalvakuntla family, who once traveled in an Ambassador car, to release a white paper on how they acquired thousands of crores worth of assets and lands. Warning that legal action is inevitable against the KCR family—who turned the state into a heap of debts while accumulating generational wealth—Deepak John and Gouri Satish made these remarks.
DCC spokespersons and party office-bearers participated in the event.
