Development of Dalits and Adivasis is Our Goal: CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad, Trinet News, September 22: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that the government is working with the core objective of developing Dalits, Adivasis, and tribal communities. He recalled that these communities have not forgotten Indira Gandhi, who showed them affection like a biological mother, noting that it was Indira Gandhi who granted assigned land titles for 25 lakh acres.
A high-level vigilance and monitoring committee meeting on the implementation of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was held on Tuesday at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of CM Revanth Reddy. Speaking on the occasion, CM Revanth Reddy explained that the government is functioning with the inspiration of Indira Gandhi and is allocating budget shares proportionate to their population. He stated that the government is working with sincere commitment for these sections, pointing out that 31 percent of beneficiaries in Indiramma housing scheme are Dalits, while 17 percent of Indiramma houses have been sanctioned to STs.
The CM stated that breakfast is being provided to 27.5 lakh students across the state from nursery to class 12. He noted that 3 crore and 48 lakh people in Telangana are being provided quality meals with fine rice, benefiting Dalit and tribal communities. The Chief Minister mentioned that welfare schemes are being implemented keeping Dalits, tribals, and Adivasis in mind. He stated that the government is responding to atrocities with a human perspective and directed officials to release compensation for victims through a green channel without linking it to the budget.
Stressing that education alone changes lives and that issues cannot be resolved unless marginalized sections are guided toward education, the CM advised parents to encourage children toward education and sports. The CM called upon everyone to develop beyond politics, assuring that this government belongs to them and works for them.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, Government Advisor Shabbir Ali, MPs Mallu Ravi, Balram Naik, Kadiyam Kavya, MLAs Thota Laxmikantha Rao, Medipally Satyam, Kavvampally Satyanarayana, Vemula Veeresham, Mandula Samel, Matta Ragamayi, Vedma Bojju, Murali Naik, MLC Gorati Venkanna, Chief Secretary Santhosh Kumar (Sanjay Jaju), DGP C.V. Anand, chairpersons and members of SC and ST commissions, and senior officials.
