In a significant boost to urban infrastructure and economic growth in the state, the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) has cleared the Telangana Urban Transformation and Jobs Programme, valued at approximately Rs 4,000 crore.
The ambitious initiative is now set to move forward for formal appraisal by the World Bank. Designed to reshape the urban landscape, the programme primarily focuses on upgrading civic infrastructure, improving service delivery, and generating sustainable employment opportunities across urban centers in Telangana.
With the clearance from the central agency secured, state authorities are preparing for the next phases of World Bank engagement. The upcoming funding is expected to play a crucial role in rolling out major developmental projects aimed at transforming the state's urban economy.
