Nacharam, Trinet News, August 31: Locals are facing severe hardships as trunk line manholes near the tank bund at HMT Nagar Pedda Cheruvu, towards Indira Nagar, have been damaged. As part of lake beautification works, the movement of heavy vehicles caused several manhole covers to be destroyed. With some manholes completely collapsed, a situation has arisen where drainage water is backing up into Indira Nagar.
Senior BRS leader Sai Jen Shekhar, along with Uppal MLA Bandari Laxma Reddy, brought this issue to the attention of Uppal Zonal Commissioner Radhika Gupta. They requested the officials to inspect the damaged manholes, clear the accumulated silt, and undertake necessary repair works to resolve the drainage backup issue.
Responding to the issue, Zonal Commissioner Radhika Gupta immediately spoke with Water Board ED Pankaja. She instructed officials to take immediate steps to clear the silt from the manholes and carry out necessary repairs.
