Hyderabad, Trinet News, September 15: The land exploitation carried out by the previous BRS government under the guise of Dharani, exposed by State Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on the floor of the Assembly, has become a hot topic across the state.
CM Revanth had earlier announced that the Dharani land scam would be discussed during the Assembly sessions. He also challenged Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister KCR to dare and attend the Assembly to participate in the discussion.
As announced by the state government, a short-duration discussion on the 22-A issue was held. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy explained the Dharani land scam that occurred during the BRS regime with several examples. Fellow ministers and ruling party MLAs expressed satisfaction with this explanation. BJP's floor leader and party MLAs also participated in this discussion and indirectly concurred with the government's explanation.
In this backdrop, CM Revanth Reddy is scheduled to hold a key meeting with ministers today (Tuesday) at MHRD. According to reliable sources, a sensational decision is likely to be taken to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the land exploitation revealed by Minister Ponguleti. An unexpected shock for BRS! The BRS has been slamming the Congress government over the list of prohibited lands for the past few weeks. In this context, the government has devised a plan to deliver an unexpected shock to that party.
During the meeting with ministers, the CM is likely to decide on ordering a thorough probe into all land transactions that took place during the BRS regime, including the period when Dharani was in force. CM Revanth Reddy will thoroughly discuss the 22-A issue with the ministers. Political analysts believe that since the Assembly is scheduled to reconvene on Wednesday, CM Revanth Reddy might speak on the 22-A issue and expose the irregularities committed by the BRS.
There is a possibility that the CM will announce the decision taken in today's ministerial meeting right on the floor of the Assembly on Wednesday. Following the Chief Minister's announcement regarding the investigation, it has become a matter of intense curiosity as to whose neck the noose will tighten among BRS leaders. With the Telangana Bhavan setting up a special helpline and grievance cell for 22-A victims, reliable sources indicate that CM Revanth Reddy is drafting a counter-strategy to deal a crippling blow to the party.
