Prathikantham Krishnamraju Centenary: 1926-2026 - An Incorruptible Police Officer and the Epitome of Affection
Trinet News, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, September 08: Prathikantham Krishnamraju stands as a symbol of honesty and commitment in Telugu states. Celebrating his centenary year (1926-2026) is a matter of great pride for all of us.
Birth, Childhood, and Education: He was born in Koduru village of the erstwhile Warangal district to parents Radhamma and Somaraju. He came from a large family consisting of five brothers and three sisters, with one elder brother and three younger brothers. During those days, he traveled to Jangaon to pursue his education and completed his primary schooling there. He finished his tenth grade and intermediate education in Hanamkonda. He created history by becoming the first graduate in his family to complete a degree from Osmania University. His passion for education and completing a degree in those times were a testament to his determination. Later, he also earned a degree in law.
An Indelible Mark in the Police Department: Starting his career in 1960 as a Sub-Inspector, he served in various capacities across the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh state, eventually retiring as an Additional SP. During his tenure as a Circle Inspector in Musheerabad, Hyderabad, he became widely renowned among the public as "Circle Saab." In those days, the police name itself instilled fear, but people had absolute faith that justice would be served when they approached Krishnamraju. Throughout his service, he never gave any room for corruption and remained strictly committed to honesty. Valuing words more than lathis, he earned everyone's admiration by respecting elders and encouraging the juniors. He successfully resolved numerous complex cases during his service. His name was even recommended for the President's Medal in the police department. After retirement, he practiced as an advocate in the High Court. He was a contemporary, close relative, and childhood friend of Acharya Birudaraju Ramaraju.
A Pillar for the Family and a Guide to Society: Even after settling in Hyderabad for professional reasons, he never forgot his roots. He embraced not only his family members but also the children of his friends, providing them with shelter, education, and lighting up their lives. His house was a temple for his family and a shelter for many. He actively participated in social activities and extended his support for the development and education of his native village, Koduru.
Centenary Tribute: The journey of life that began in 1926 serves as a living lesson for the present generation on how a person's life should be, how an officer should conduct himself, and how an elder should help others. Although Krishnamraju is physically no longer with us, the seeds of honesty, affection, and service he planted have grown into massive trees in our families. On the occasion of this centenary, we heartfeltly pay tribute to that great soul, and carrying forward his ideals is the true respect we can pay him.
Family Background: He is survived by three daughters and three sons. The eldest daughter, Vijayalakshmi, is married to Dr. Devaraju Madan Mohan Raju, and their family is settled in London where they are prominent medical doctors. The second daughter, Vasundhara, is married to Birudaraju Ashok Raju, who retired as an RTC Depot Manager. The third daughter, Arundhati, is married to Dr. Chennamadhunuri Damodar Raju, a prominent scientist in the Agriculture Department. The eldest son, Padmanabha Raju, served as a Circle Inspector in the Police Department and recently passed away. The second son, Shyam Sundar Raju, is settled as a software engineer in America. The third son, Gunavardhan Raju, serves as a Vice President in a software company. Former Atmakur (M) Mandal ZPTC member Prathikantham Poornachandar Raju paid rich tributes, raising slogans of "Johar Prathikantham Krishnamraju!"
