Hyderabad, Trinet News, September 4: Protesting against 1,000 days of failures by the Congress party, BRS Padmarao Nagar Incharge Gurram Pawan Kumar Goud organized a cooking protest ("Vanta Varpu") on Friday at Padmarao Nagar crossroads, following a call by Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, he criticized that the ruling party made false promises before coming to power and threw all guarantees to the wind afterward. He pointed out that the government had promised Rs 2,500 monthly financial assistance to women, implementation of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme along with one Tula (one tola) of gold, and scooties for women. Even though 1,000 days have passed since the party came to power, not a single promise has been fulfilled, he slammed.
As part of the ongoing protests, Pawan Kumar announced that a rally with students will be organized tomorrow, Saturday, from the SP College grounds to protest the non-implementation of fee reimbursement, and stated that MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav will participate in the program.
Esuri Mahesh, Division Presidents Raju, Venkata Ramana, Srikanth Reddy, Kousalya, Amruta, Anita, Nagalakshmi, Lakshmi Durga, Kushal, Ambulance Suresh, Mahender Goud, Sudhakar Reddy, Lambu Srinivas, Mukka Srinivas, Pasha, and others participated in the cooking protest.
