* Trying to suppress the case will lead to severe consequences similar to Kolkata's 'RG Kar' incident!

* Transparent investigation must be conducted; hand over the case to CBI if necessary.

Hyderabad, Trinet News, August 31: BJP Telangana General Secretary Virender Goud strongly criticized the Congress government, stating that law and order in the state have completely deteriorated and women's safety is in jeopardy. Expressing deep anguish, he termed the rape and murder of a tribal (ST) young woman working as a nurse at a private hospital in the Tukkuguda municipality limits of Ranga Reddy district as brutal and a shameful incident for civil society.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the victim, who hailed from the Khammam/Kothagudem area for livelihood, was working as a nurse at the local Prime Care Hospital and staying in a nearby hostel. A mechanic named Sanaullah Khan, working at an adjacent shop, wickedly barged into her hostel room, committed rape, and brutally murdered her when she resisted, he stated. Information indicates that the accused even tried to destroy evidence by pouring petrol, he added.

He slammed the police for acting negligently by failing to register a case until yesterday and officially confirming the arrest despite the accused being clearly identified through CCTV footage, raising suspicions. Virender Goud alleged a clear conspiracy to suppress the case, pointing out attempts to intimidate the victim's family, pacify them with compensation offers, hastily finish the post-mortem, and transport the body to her native village.

Strongly lashing out, he said that just as Mamata Banerjee's government tried to protect culprits in Kolkata's 'RG Kar' medical college incident, the Revanth Reddy government in Telangana is acting in a similar manner to shield the accused. He called it shameful that the government remains indifferent despite a series of atrocities against women and minors within a single week. Criticizing the silence of both Congress and BRS parties due to vote-bank politics when MIM MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig was recently caught in obscene videos with a minor girl, he said it was unfortunate.

He expressed grief that law and order have collapsed due to unbridled growth of hostels, drug usage, and outsiders without proper details in the Tukkuguda and Mankhal areas, creating a situation where local women and female students live in constant fear. On behalf of the BJP, he demanded that the government conduct an impartial and highly transparent investigation, severely punish the accused, and render complete justice to the victim's family. He demanded that if the investigation fails to instill confidence in the public regarding the state police machinery, the case should be immediately handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
