Ravindra Bharati, Trinet News, August 23: Kumari K.R. Bhavika Reddy's Bharatanatyam debut performance, organized under the auspices of the Uttara Center for Performing Arts, mesmerized the audience on Sunday night at Ravindra Bharati.
A disciple of 'Abhinaya Kalaratna' Guru Geetha Ganesan, Bhavika Reddy began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of seven and has been undergoing rigorous training in classical dance for the past ten years. Sticking to the traditional Bharatanatyam margam, she brilliantly performed various dance items combining nritta, abhinaya, and devotion.
As part of the program, she performed Pushpanjali, 'Madagaja Mukhane' in praise of Lord Ganapati, and the main piece, the Tamil padavarnam 'Mohamayinen'. Later, Bhavika presented 'Rajiva Netraya' depicting various episodes from the Ramayana, the Marathi kriti 'Aaj Gokula' describing the Holi celebrations of Lord Krishna, Radha, and Gopis, and the Kannada javali 'Sako Ninna Sneha'. The dance recital concluded with an energetic tillana.
Featuring compositions in Sanskrit, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, and Kannada languages, the performance reflected the brilliance of nritta, the beauty of abhinaya, and devotional depth, alongside the diversity of Indian music and literature.
Guru Smt. Geetha Ganesan provided nattuvangam and vocal support for the event, while K. Rajagopala Chari on mridangam, R. Dinakar on violin, J. Dattatreya on flute, and R. Srikanth on tabla provided musical accompaniment.
