RAVINDRA BHARATHI, TRINET NEWS, AUG 23: Under the auspices of the Uttara Center for Performing Arts, Kumari K.R. Bhavika Reddy's Bharatanatyam Arangetram was mesmerizingly performed on Sunday night at Ravindra Bharathi.
A disciple of 'Abhinaya Kalaratna' Guru Geetha Ganesan, Kumari K.R. Bhavika Reddy began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of seven and has been undergoing training in classical dance for a decade.
Following the traditional Bharatanatyam margam during her debut, she brilliantly performed diverse dance items combining nritta, abhinaya, and devotion. As part of the program, she performed Pushpanjali, the Ganapati stuti "Madagaja Mukhane," and as the main piece, the Tamil padavarnam "Mohamayanen."
Later, Bhavika presented "Rajiva Netraya," which depicts various episodes from the Ramayana, the Marathi krithi "Aaj Gokula," describing the Holi celebrations of Lord Krishna, Radha, and the gopikas, and the Kannada javali "Sako Ninna Sneha." The dance performance concluded with an energetic tillana.
Featuring compositions in Sanskrit, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, and Kannada languages, this performance reflected the grandeur of nritta, the beauty of abhinaya, and devotional emotion, alongside the diversity of Indian music and literature.
Guru Smt. Geetha Ganesan provided nattuvangam and vocal support for the event, while K. Rajagopala Chari on mridangam, R. Dinakar on violin, J. Dattatreya on flute, and R. Srikanth on tabla provided musical accompaniment.
