Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation (AP FDC) Chairman Bharath Bhushan and MD Viswanathan made a crucial announcement regarding the Andhra Pradesh Nandi Awards. Addressing the media, they shared details about the Nandi Awards event, which had been stalled in the state for the past few years.
Speaking on the occasion, AP FDC Chairman Bharath Bhushan said, "Heartfelt greetings to everyone who has attended this event. The-long pending dream of the Telugu film, television, and theatre fraternity is finally being realized as the coalition government has decided to present the Nandi Awards. Under the leadership of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, with the cooperation of Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and the special initiative of Nandamuri Balakrishna, the Nandi Awards will be presented."
He further explained, "As announced earlier, prizes will be presented for the previously announced awards from 2012 to 2016. From 2017 to 2024, four awards will be presented for each year. The 2025 awards will be evaluated and presented freshly. Additionally, the NTR awards and rewards that have been pending for the past few years will be given by December 25. Awards for the television and theatre sectors will also be distributed in the same manner. Notifications for all these sectors are being released today; once all applications are received by October 12, the jury and committee will be announced in the second week of October. We have been working on this for the past 3 months, giving importance to Telugu cinema. A single-window system will also be announced in the next 20 to 30 days."
AP FDC MD Viswanathan stated, "We have the exact figures regarding these awards, and detailed information for each award will be available on the respective website. Although awards for 2012 to 2016 were announced previously, they were not presented. There are about 288 film awards and 51 jury awards, as well as 330 television awards and 54 jury awards. While the older awards were pending distribution, the awards for 2017–2024 were never announced. Therefore, we are going to present 4 awards for each of those years—First Best, Second Best, along with two jury awards. From the subsequent years onwards, awards will be presented in full scale. We are resuming the Nandi Awards after 2011. This prestigious event will be an unforgettable experience for the Telugu people, and the government is fully prepared to conduct it."
He added, "Under the leadership of Bharath Bhushan as Chairman, with the cooperation of fellow members, and under the guidance of Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Kandula Durgesh, and Nandamuri Balakrishna, this event is going to be a grand success. The film awards ceremony will be held in the Amaravati region, while the TV awards will be hosted in Tirupati."
