Former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya praised legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), stating that he remains etched in history through films like Devadasu, Kalidasu, and Manchi Manusulu, setting an ideal standard for society with his disciplined life. He participated as the chief guest at the 102nd birth anniversary celebrations of ANR, organized by the prominent cultural organization Rasamayi at the Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha main stage, where twelve Akkineni fans from various regions were felicitated.
Speaking on the occasion, Dattatreya said that both ANR and NTR were legendary actors and that he is an admirer of both. Highlighting their punctuality and dedication to their craft, he urged the award recipients to follow ANR's ideals in their respective regions and actively participate in social service activities.
Former Union Minister Dr. Samudrala Venugopalachari, speaking as a guest, remarked that it is commendable to bring together Akkineni fans from different regions to felicitate them. He praised Rasamayi as the only organization that managed to bring both ANR and NTR onto a single stage.
Presided over by former Income Tax Principal Director Narasimhappah, the event featured a welcome address by Dr. Ramu of the organization, who stated that in the past, they had honored prominent personalities recommended by ANR with gold bracelets, and have been felicitating his fans since last year. Renowned poet V. D. Rajagopal and others participated in the event, which was eloquently hosted by anchor Asha Latha. The program began with a Kuchipudi dance performance by Lalitha Sindhuri's disciples to the song 'Mana Akkineni Geetalu', written by Dr. Ramu.
