Sri Sri, who used poetry as a tool for social consciousness and welfare, will remain in people's movements as well as literature across generations, said retired High Court Justice Visweswara Rao. As part of the 'Endaro Mahanubhavulu' lecture series organized by Gana Sabha at the Gundavarapu Hanumantha Rao art stage in Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, a meeting was held in memory of the great poet Sri Sri.
Participating as the chief guest, Justice Visweswara Rao explained that while Rayaprolu Subba Rao paved the way for the romantic poetry era in Telugu literature and Gurajada was the pioneer of the progressive literary era, Sri Sri began his literary journey following in their footsteps as a romantic poet. With his epic work 'Mahaprasthanam', he stood by the people as a progressive poet and earned recognition as a people's poet.
Writer Shailaja Mitra said that there are many who wrote literature influenced by the great poet Sri Sri. She noted that his film songs have a special uniqueness and are filled with socialist concepts according to the context, with the song 'Padavoyi Bharatiyuda' being a good example of this.
Under the presidency of Gana Sabha President Kala Janardhana Murthy, female singers Amani Sobha Rani and prominent commentator Mohana Krishna participated on the stage.
