The 6th death anniversary of the legendary singer and Padma Vibhushan awardee, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, was conducted virtually under the auspices of the SPB Music Academy, established by his fans in New York, USA.
Speaking on the occasion, prominent actor Rajendra Prasad said that Balu sang songs not only in Telugu but also in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and other languages, captivating people of those regions with the sweetness of his voice to the extent that everyone felt he belonged to them. He remarked that death came to him too soon and stated that had he lived a little longer, his singing and spoken words would have greatly benefited the Telugu language.
Vamsi Arts International head Vamsi Ramaraju stated that Balu filled the void left by Ghantasala and added that a singer of equal stature to Balu has not emerged since.
Noted singers Ramachari Nemani, Parthasarathy, Sandeep, Vinod, and Dheeraj recalled their association with Balu and melodiously performed his songs. Lyricist Rasa Raju participated in the event. Academy President Srinivas Guduru explained the organization's activities, while Chairman Hari Ippanapalli delivered the welcome address. Burra Rajeshwari, Sujata, Lavanya, Srinivas Reddy, Ramu Gedela, Chandra Ravi Ayyagari, Kumari Rani, and others managed the program. Telugu representatives from various countries shared their messages.
